When You Are Emotionally Spent

After spending all day yesterday creating art with children suffering from cancer I am emotionally spent. I have been emotionally spent in the past and have forged ahead full speed ahead into life. I suffered both physically with my health and emotionally for it. I am learning to take care of myself. Sounds funny doesn't it. It seems like taking care of ourselves is something we would automatically do..but we don't. Many of us keep on going like the Ever Ready battery bunny long after our batteries need recharged....until finally we stop...not because we want to but because there is nothing left.

Today I will recharge by resting, spending time with my husband and basically having a down down.

Our prompt today is the questions:

What do you do when you are emotionally spent?
Do you feel emotionally spent or like there is nothing left right now?
When was the last time you took care of You?
HOW do you take care of yourself?

Starting Monday we will take on very difficult subject for a few days . We will end the week with a few just for fun prompts to help you recover from all the work you will be doing earlier in the week.

Have a great day!

Sending Love,
Susan

  1. I get a bit selfish and read a book. I read a lot of escapist fiction (how else could you describe paranormal romance?) and I use it to relax. My family and dog also help me to destress. My job can be a bit stressful sometimes. Some of my students have major disablities and issues. I am the mother confessor of them all. :) Relax and have a good day.
